5 Sneaker Heads You Must Know _ by Chris Washington | CLTR Gallery

When it comes to men’s fashion sneakers is the one thing that every fashionable male must have. Rather it’s the Jordan Cement 3′s or Asics Gel Light III it is a sneaker for every walk of life. So, today I have compiled a list of 5 major people that we look to for trends in the sneaker community. This not just your  typical rapper and athlete list either, this a list of the people that make things go from behind the scenes whether it be web, store, or just pure influence on the sneaker community.

5. Macklemore

Although he is a relatively new artist to mainstream population his hipster fan base of 2.8 million followers definitely follows his trends. He can be caught flossing his Oregon J’s on IG personally from Jordan Brand as a Christmas gift or sitting court side at the Knicks games in the 88′ Jordan 3′s. He is the poster boy for the non-athlete sneaker head hipster who has found a way to just make shit look good. The new Grammy winner has been a die-hard sneaker head even before the fame. Besides, he threw a pair of Unreleased Yeezy Red Octobers in the stands during his show in Times Square on NYE…He had to make the list.

4. Victor Cruz

Ok, let’s not even count the fact that he is an endorser of the Nike product. Victor Cruz is one of the biggest sneaker head in the game. He has started a campaign on social media #CruzDayTuesday which has sneaker heads taking their best pictures of sneakers that they are wearing for the day in hopes he will give them a shout out and post their picture. You can always catch him in either exclusive Retro or some cool sneaker by Nike Brand.

3. Ronnie Fieg

As a sneaker store owner, Fieg of course would be my favorite on the list. Fieg owns the store KITH in New York which is regarded as one of the best stores in the Empire State. His store specializes in rare sneakers that heads go crazy over. The design of his store is second to none and his marketing is superb. Fieg is also the man responsible for the Asics revitalization. The sleek new styles and crazy color ways is all him he also managed to drop one of the biggest Black Friday sneakers in years with the Daytona 1600s then came right back and drop one of my favorite sneakers of the year New Balance 557 on Cyber Monday! This guy knows what he’s doing he is a pure trendsetter.

2. Yu-Ming Wu

If you don’t recognize the name don’t worry, you know his brand. He founded Sneaker Con Expo and also founded and publishes Sneaker News, Freshness Mag and Jordan-Daily. His credentials alone make him one of the most influential people in the sneaker community. Wu has a following of well over a million followers on social media and has taken his expo into New York, New Orleans, Chicago and Washington D.C. He is the source and everybody in the sneaker community get the news from him one way or another.

1. Kanye West

The main reason why the 21x Grammy Award winner is on here is because his sure influence over the consumer and the culture. People who are not even involved with the sneaker community was salivating at the mouth to get a pair of Yeezys. Not only that he also taught us about  Balenciaga and Visvim sneakers. All of which have seen a spike in sales. Now after his public split with Nike which ended in probably the shoe of the decade never been released he switched the game up and signed a deal with Adidas. This move have the sneaker community buzzing. Adidas have major stars that every one love from Derrick Rose to RGIII great designers from Jeremy Scott, Rick Owens to Yohji Yamamoto but none that has more influence to bring Adidas up like Kanye West.
